The Chinese Government Scholarship - "Silk Road" Program for International Students of Yunnan University of Finance and Economics is a full scholarship program comprehensively planned by the Ministry of Education of the People's Republic of China to support Chinese universities and attract outstanding students from countries and regions along the "Belt and Road" Initiative to study and further their education in China. As one of the local universities undertaking this program, in 2025, Yunnan University of Finance and Economics will enroll a batch of students who would like to join the master's degree program in project management from corresponding countries and regions.

I. Scholarship program: University "Silk Road" Scholarship Program

1. Enrollment category and program duration: Full-time postgraduates, with the program duration of 2 years.

2. Major: Project management

3. Language of instruction: English

II. Scholarship content: Full scholarship

1. Students enrolled will be exempted from the registration fee, tuition fee, insurance fee, basic teaching material fee and accommodation fee (travel expenses to be borne by students themselves);

2. Students enrolled will be granted with a monthly living allowance during their study period in accordance with the Chinese government scholarship standard (postgraduate students: RMB 3,000 Yuan/ month/ student);

3. Students enrolled will be arranged with a double room for free accommodation on campus;

4. Students enrolled will be provided with comprehensive medical insurance for international students studying in China.

III. Applicant conditions

Applicants should have a bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification, demonstrate excellent academic performance, generally be under the age of 35, and hold the nationality from countries jointly building the "Belt and Road" Initiative: Cambodia, Laos, Thailand, Vietnam, Myanmar, Nepal, Sri Lanka, and Ethiopia.

IV. Application materials required:

1. Application Form of Yunnan University of Finance and Economics for the Chinese Government Scholarship Program (to be prepared in Chinese or English).

2. Passport's first page. (The validity of applicants' passport should expire after February 2026). If the validity period of applicants' current passport does not meet the requirement, please apply for a new passport in a timely manner.

3. A notarized certificate of the highest academic degree. If applicants are current students, they must submit a certificate of expected graduation or student status issued by their current school.

4. Academic transcripts (from the undergraduate program onwards). The scanned copies of academic transcripts should include those of the undergraduate and postgraduate periods (if any), until the latest semester. These academic transcripts can be in Chinese/ English. If they are in foreign languages other than English, they should be attached with the notarized English translations.

5. Language Certificates. Applicants for foreign language-taught programs should provide corresponding language proficiency certificates such as IELTS or TOFEL report according to YUFE’s requirements.

6. A study plan in China. Applicants should submit a study plan in Chinese/ English (not less than 1,000 words). Only the study plan in Chinese or English can be accepted.

7. Letters of recommendation. Two letters of recommendation (written only in Chinese or English) by professors or associate professors shall be submitted.

8. Certificates of honors or works.

9. Foreigner Physical Examination Form and Blood Test Report. (the original is kept by yourself, and this form is uniformly printed by the Chinese Health and Quarantine Department, and must be filled in English. The applicant should carry out the examination in strict accordance with the items required in the Foreigner Physical Examination Form. The Foreigner Physical Examination Form with missing items, no photo of himself or his or her own seal on the photo, and no signature and seal of the doctor and the hospital is invalid.),  The validity of the examination results is 6 months.

10. Certificate of no criminal record. Applicants should submit a valid certificate of no criminal record issued by the local public security authority, which should be a certificate document issued within 6 months prior to the submission date of the application.

Note: If the above-mentioned materials are not written in Chinese or English, the notarized Chinese or English translations are required. The materials uploaded through the system must be clear, authentic and valid. Applicants are recommended to use a professional device to scan the relevant documents to be submitted. Any consequences arising from unclear or unidentifiable materials as uploaded shall be borne solely by the applicants.

V. Application time

Application deadline: 18:00 (Beijing Time) on May 11, 2025.

VI. Application procedures

1. Applicants log in the Service Platform for International Students of Yunnan University of Finance and Economics (https://ynufe.at0086.cn/StuApplication/Login.aspx) to register an account, fill in the application information online, and upload the required application materials before 18:00 (Beijing Time) on May 11, 2025.

2. YNUFE conducts a comprehensive review of the applicants' materials. On the premise of strictly abiding by relevant national provisions, it formulates the admission standards subject to the training objectives and capabilities of international students of YNUFE, and assesses the applications through appropriate means such as written tests or interviews subject to the actual situations.

3. After applicants pass the review by YNUFE and receive the pre-admission materials, they are requested to log in the Chinese Government Scholarship Information System “https://studyinchina.csc.edu.cn/#/login” to register an account before May 30, 2025, and fill in the application information in Chinese or English (please enter “10689” for the agency number and select “Type B” for the program category), and upload all the required materials (including the pre-admission materials). In addition, applicants should upload the Application Form for the Chinese Government Scholarship Program automatically generated by the Chinese Government Scholarship Information System to the Service Platform for International Students of Yunnan University of Finance and Economics.

VII. Admission and notice

1. Yunnan University of Finance and Economics will organize experts to review and assess the application materials submitted by the applicants, and select the candidates to be admitted, and report them to China Scholarship Council for review. Applicants who meet the requirements will be admitted on a merit basis.

2. Yunnan University of Finance and Economics will issue an electronic Admission Letter and Conformation Form for Study in China (Form JW201) to the scholarship recipients before August.

3. Each scholarship recipient can only receive funding from one scholarship program.

4. Scholarship recipients are not allowed to change their admitted universities after enrollment. In principle, they are not permitted to change their major or the duration of study.

5. For those who fail to study in China according to the admission period, the scholarship eligibility will not be retained.
